The Classroom

Located within Hood River Alliance Church, our classroom provides children with opportunities to explore, create, and play with purpose. The environment is thoughtfully prepared and intentionally organized into learning areas that respond to children's interests and needs. Open-ended materials encourage creativity, collaboration, independence, and hands-on discovery, inviting children to follow their curiosity and engage deeply in play.

Sensory & Tactile Play
Hands-on materials that invite curiosity, experimentation, and self-regulation.

Dramatic Play
Open-ended pretend play that supports social connection, language, and imagination.

Maker Space
A creative area for building, designing, and problem-solving using a variety of materials.

Drawing Table
Space for mark-making and creative expression at each child’s pace.

Library & Calm Corner
A cozy nook for reading and rest.

Building Area
A space for block play, building, problem-solving, imaginative play, and gross motor exploration.

As a nature-focused program, we spend meaningful time outdoors each day. Just outside the classroom is a courtyard with garden beds and a large grassy area for play. Our adventures also take us to nearby Mann Park and the Westside Community Trails, offering endless opportunities to explore, imagine, and wander. Through immersion in nature, children build resilience, strengthen social-emotional and problem-solving skills, and develop a lasting connection with the natural world around them.

Outdoor Space

Our preschool is more than just a space—it is a living environment that grows and changes alongside the children who learn within it. Our commitment is to create a nurturing and inspiring learning environment, both inside the classroom and out in nature, where children feel excited and empowered to play.

Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–1:00 PM

Our preschool program runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, offering a predictable yet flexible rhythm that supports young children’s need for both structure and freedom. Each day includes time for open-ended exploration, circle time, snack, outdoor play, and lunch, with a balance of active and quiet moments. The schedule is intentionally flexible, allowing educators to respond to children’s interests while providing the consistency young learners need to thrive.
